Dear Co-Laborers in Christ: It is with tears of joy that I recount to you the tremendous things God is doing here amongst us. As led by the Lord, we began a new church in my partner's living room on Sunday January 12th! We named her Iglesia Bautista La Palabra de Vida (The Word of Life Baptist Church) What a great work our Lord has done since! Our first morning we had no visitors up until 15 minutes before the service. We had three signs set out, one of them on the major highway just two blocks from our church plant. We knew it was a spiritual war. But it was even more evident when we saw a huge Idle-Worshiping parade move down the highway. All of them marched right past our sign. My partner, Lew Beeler, suggested that we might invite some people in the area. We walked up to a man, Jose Morocho, sitting on his front porch step, and invited him to come and we gave him some Gospel literature. He asked us "What does it cost to attend, sirs? And what must one bring?" When we assured him that our services were free just like the gift of salvation, he said that he would come. And he did! I preached on Matthew 7:13 and invited all to seek and enter the narrow gate. About a half hour after I started, I was sitting beside Jose and leading him to Christ! What a joy to see his smile and to hear him say that he felt as if a huge burden had been lifted off of his shoulders! He has brought his children and they are all saved now! And being discipled. And the Lord has continued to do great and mighty things since then! We have led at least 22 people to Christ since that first day, and we are discipling all who will participate! (Yes, we are busy!) I say at least 20 because there are times when I give a public invitation and people pray verbally to get saved. But we haven't had opportunities to talk with them one on one yet. For instance, last Thursday and Friday we passed out 250 flyers advertising the video we would show about the end times. Friday night 27 NEW people showed up and 8 "regulars" did too. (35 + workers) I gave a strong invitation afterwards and it sounded like half the room asked Christ into their hearts! Two weeks ago, we showed the second video in the trilogy and we had 25 people show up. And last Sunday Night we had 36 people attend (Please, see pictures on website)! Most of them were, until now, unsaved and unchurched! God is GOOD! Last Sunday night (March 23rd) I had the privilege of leading a young man to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He had attended our church and had heard me preach the Gospel for three weeks in a row. He raised his hand during the invitation. We spoke, outside after the service. There, he asked Jesus into his heart. What a change in his countenence appeared! Afterwards, he said that he was very enthusiastic about being discipled. Please pray for Edwin. He brought his father and some friends and they heard the Gospel clearly too. We are having a Baptism Service for new Christians who are being discipled and wish to be Baptized! I praise God -the first one I will Baptize will be my son, David! I am so thrilled. There are a few more who wish to obey the Lord in this manner ! Additionally, I am convinced that God is working on some others too! We have found a house! What a blessing to unpack our things, and get settled into our own private area. We have been hosting evangelistic Bible Studies twice a week around the coffee table. I continue various other Bible studies in other people's houses during the week. And we witness right on the street usually twice a week for two or three hours. God is giving us so many opportunities to share the Gospel here! It is constant. The normal, day to day things I am involved in are: preaching, teaching, discipling, witnessing, and counseling. Praises: For the wonderful, capable help we have with us at this time. (The Beelers, and Sharna Graves) For many new names written in Glory! For tremendous opportunities. That God has started another church for His Glory. We are so awed to be used by Him. For two new churches who have committed to take us on for support! Praise God! For YOU! Our faithful supporters and prayer warriors. Prayer Requests: To rent a location for church. We are growing. And the Beelers are leaving for the Summer. We need a place badly. I am on my third computer since I last emailed an update. This is why my weekly and monthly prayer letters have not gone out. *I remember most of whom wanted to receive a weekly update. But I lost ALL information because of the virus which destroyed my computer. *Please email me if you wish to receive the weeklies which will start next week. We would love to add you to the list. One church has contributed significantly to the repair of my virus ridden laptop. THANK YOU! Please pray we can raise enough money to restore it fully. Please pray for all of the new Christians who are amongst us. Please pray that we might Pastor them well, and disciple them effectively. Our partners, Sharna Graves, and the Beelers, are leaving for the Summer. Sonia and I will be alone. We really need help keeping up with everything. I am taking guitar lessons for the music in the church. When they leave it will be all up to us! We are still under supported. Please pray that God will provide. THANK YOU FOR ALL of your wonderful, generous prayers or financial support. You mean the World to us! You have a direct hand in the birth of this brand new church!
