To our Wonderful Supporters and Prayer Partners;

Thank you so much for another year of partnership with us. Because of
your passion for what God is doing through us in Ecuador, we were able
to have an impact on Ecuadorians’ lives with the life changing Gospel of
Jesus Christ-the only reason behind the Christmas Season.

Here is what God has been doing recently

Believers learn to take responsibility at church! From the first day
we started Iglesia Bautista Trinidad I taught that believers are
commanded to grow in the Lord. It was a struggle to get people to take
ownership and responsibility in their church’s ministries, and their own
spiritual service to the Lord (Everybody should use their spiritual gifts
for God’s work in their local church). But we pushed on ahead and
attempted to train these spiritually young ones to be part of their church’s
solution. Our absence from Ecuador since July 29th has been the “kick in
the pants” they needed to take the reins and get involved.

Take for example Paul (Pronounced Pa-ool). He had struggled with
“rollercoaster Christianity” and was used to being served instead of
serving. He has turned out to be my right hand man! He is organizing Men’s
camping retreats, the preaching schedule, stewardship, and the Christmas
Program-all in my absence! He has become a witness of the Gospel as he
has shared with his friends, and he is starting an evangelistic Bible
Study in January with them in his house! Paul was a participator before,
now he is a leader! I am so thrilled about what God is doing in his and
others’ lives!

I would also like to tell you about Jairo and Veronica, and William and
Elizabeth too. After I have tried to teach them for over a year about
serving, they too are taking the reins! They are working responsibly for
their Lord and Savior as they labor using their spiritual gifts at
Iglesia Bautista Trinidad. It is very exciting to see as the Lord is doing
a tremendous work through them! He has much more in store as He
continues to build His church while we partner together as bi-cultural
missionaries and nationals!

David And Sonia Complete first phase of Training in Biblical
Counseling: We praise the Lord for the tremendous opportunity with which we
have been involved, as we have participated in the 11 grueling Mondays
consisting of 12 hours of classes/observation in nouthetic counseling. We
have thoroughly enjoyed it! We have learned allot! We have seen God’s
Word applied to peoples lives and have then seen their lives
transformed. Applying this learning to our own lives has been a huge help for us.
We have high expectations about what the Lord is going to do through
this extremely helpful training as we use it and teach it in Ecuador! The
training will continue as we take further steps towards an effective
counseling ministry. (Note: Acts 20:31shows Paul’s labor in counseling
his sheep)

Jairo Gets Married:
As one may recall, the Lord has raised up a potential spiritual leader
whom David is training named Jairo. He has felt God’s call on his
life-the call to ministry. David and he are in consistent contact through
email. David continues to train Jairo, discipling him over the internet.
Jairo has married a Christian women who had originally witnessed to him
and invited him to church. Her name is Veronica. You can read about the

Awesome note: We partner with another BMM church in Cuenca. Sonia’s
brother Diego is the pastor of (Faith Baptist Church). As you may have
read in previous updates or on the website, he has been caring for our
church plant in our absence. He has given pre marriage counseling to Jairo
and Vreo. And he will begin regular marriage counseling this wek. I
praise God for the opportunity to partner with national leadership in such
significant ways.
