Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters;

Church plant growing steadily

Praise the Lord that our new believers are sharing and reaching out to others with the Gospel and inviting them to church. It is a real blessing to hear folks like Enrique sharing a crystal clear Gospel Message with another-even exposing the fallacy of false doctrine with Scripture he has learned. I am utterly surprised and thankful to God for this heart transformation I see in him and others.

I must share another example-that of Checho and what God is doing through him. His parents and extended family claim to be devoutly religious-although they are occasional attendees of their chosen parish. However they have recently become entrapped in the cult called “Santeria” which is basically witchcraft. Checho has been requesting prayer for them and has been sharing their story with us. He, being a new Christian, knows how evil this cult is. He has been sharing the Gospel with his father, mother, uncles, and brother tactfully and caringly. They oppose him, claiming that HE is involved in a cult (our church). The witch cannot look at him and speaks with disdain when referring to him. Please be in prayer for Checho and his whole family. (Note: His wife, Lorena just had a baby on Monday. She is also a new believer.)

Good number of new Biblical Counselors being trained

I (David) have had a great opportunity to train believers in Biblical counseling. I am dividing the classes up into 1 week per month segments. We have now completed three weeks and people are still enthusiastic about learning more. We will continue on! Results? Please read the next paragraph.

Opportunities to help Families in Crisis

Pastor Patricio Paredes is the Pastor at BMM’s first church plant in Ecuador, called La Gracia (Grace Baptist). He is attending my Biblical Counseling classes and is doing well. I was asked by a one of his church leaders to counsel that man’s friend who is married to an unsaved wife. I consulted with Pastor Patricio and was given the go-ahead. However, I wanted Patricio to take over shortly after I opened the path. Patricio felt perhaps uncomfortable to proceed with this particular couple, but I encouraged him to accompany me. He basically took over and lead that counseling session in a more effective manner than I could have hoped to perform myself  to be sure! I am thrilled to see what God has done through him!

The couple receiving the counseling is facing tremendous marital difficulty which includes abuse, infidelity and other problems. Please be in prayer for this couple I will call Jack and Deana. He is supposedly saved, although far from a close walk with the Lord. She is unsaved, and hindered by her husband’s devastatingly poor testimony.

Indigenous Outreach to Continue This Christmas

As one may recall, we have a passion for reaching out to the Quichua speaking Indigenous folk who are in desperate need of the Gospel and immediate physical help. As a matter of fact I hope to start in Indigenous work sometime in the next year if God allows. In the past we have loaded my 4X4 up with rice, noodles, sugar, clothing, medicine, and other items and head out for the remote hills. There we distribute the goods and share the Gospel.

New Harmony Baptist Church of Cladwell, OH donated $240 to this cause. We will be buying the goods with this money, and requesting national donations starting tonight. If YOU wish to be a part of this Gospel Ministry, please make your donation (as well as any donations for this ministry or gifts to us) to BMM, and specify what and who it is for. Whether you can donate or not, I request that you be in much prayer for this “reaching out” type of compassion/Gospel ministry.

Leftist President elect here in Ecuador

Romans 13:1-7 states that all governments are ordained by God and that we should respect the powers God has established. We believe this applies to governments which fulfill God’s desires and governments which do not.

We currently obey and will continue to obey this command from Scripture.

Two Sundays ago (Nov. 26) a Socialist, Leftist president with a doctorate from the University of Illinois was elected. He states he will not sign the free trade agreement with the US, will not renew the contract for the US military base in Manta, and said the Devil was insulted when Chavez called President Bush “the Devil”. Are we  comfortable with the situation? Will he kick missionaries out of Ecuador like Chavez did in Venezuela? I trust you will be in fervent prayer for Ecuador’s new president, Rafael Correa, and for the spread of the Gospel in this wonderful, challenging country.
