Our Personal Mission:

(Matthew 28:19-20 , II  Timothy 2:2)

There are many aspects of ministry that a missionary could potentially get involved in. We are called and commissioned to do one thing: church planting. This is our heartbeat!

This passionate drive can be divided into four main areas: Evangelism, Discipleship, Leadership Training, and Administration.

Evangelism:

We witness to people naturally almost every day. That is why God has put us on this Earth! God has given us tremendous opportunities to share His Word in Cuenca, Ecuador.

We have a unique rapport with people and have numerous doors into Cuencano society; as Sonia’s family has lived here for three generations. The opportunities are great. And God has realized many of them, drawing unsaved people to enter into a saving relationship with Himself!

We praise God for all He has accomplished for His Kingdom. And we know He will accomplish much more in the years and decades to come, should He tarry!

Note* Please see “My Philosophy” below.

Discipleship:

In our opinion, this is monumental to all aspects of ministry anywhere in the world. The spiritual infant is nurtured along with the Word of God with his discipler. The goal is spiritual maturity.

And multiplication. We are heavily involved in this at Trinity Baptist Church.

My Philosophy-  God does not wish for me to do it alone (addition). He wants me to 1.) train others, who will 2.) witness to others, 3.)who will in turn train others to do the same (Multiplication) This principle is found in II Timothy 2:2.

We have the formula started at Trinity Baptist in Cuenca. I am excited to see what God will do with the small band of spiritual warriors He is preparing for spiritual multiplication!

Leadership Training:

If I were to plant a church and lead it until I died, I would not be responding to the call which God has extended to me.

I am called to plant a church and to put national leadership in place at that church. When the aforementioned goal is accomplished, my job is to break off and start another work.

*An individual:I have been praying for years for a man to respond to God’s call for spiritual leadership at Trinity. God is working on a young man for full time ministry. He is just beginning his preparation. It will be seen whether he will be the next leader at Trinity Baptist.

*The whole Body: We are not training full time ministers exclusively! We believe that Christians are “Saved to Serve”. And we believe that the Bible teaches that all Christians should be involved in some kind of local church ministry. We want people to get involved in the work with us!

We are constantly praying that God will raise up leadership for this work which He has started. And we are training leaders from scratch presently. Please beseech the Lord with us that He might lead individuals into local church ministries at Trinity Baptist in Cuenca.

Administration:

For a church plant to go anywhere, it needs strong leadership and direction. We are called to lead the church into 1.) Organization 2.) Ownership of property 3.) Establishment of leadership.

Organization: At this point we have not met our numerical goal which we set. We wish to meet this goal before we organize with membership, constitution, statutes etc. We should reach our goal in the near future. In the meantime, we are equipping the saints to be spiritually mature, and to do the work of the ministry.

Ownership of Property (Please see the “Support” page): We believe that we should not leave a church until it is stable in all areas. One of the things we trust God will realize before we move on to a completely different church plant is the stability of having ownership of a meeting place.

“The people are the church, the church building is not!” is our theme. With this fundamental principle in mind we strive towards the goal of obtaining property.

Ecuadorians and North Americans have sacrificed towards this vital need. We know that God will bless in this area and one day Trinity Baptist Church will have a place of it’s own to meet-for decades to come-if He should tarry.

Establishment of leadership: God has placed us in Cuenca to be His instruments in raising up spiritual leadership for Trinity Baptist. Again, please pray for mighty spiritual warriors to be raised by the Almighty King, for His Kingdom.
