Ecuador

Ecuador is one of the most bio-diverse countries on the planet. It has four regions : The Jungle or Rainforest Region, the Andes Mountains region, the Coastal Region, and the Galapagos Islands. Here you will find pictures from all areas of Ecuador.

Our ministry and home is mainly in the Andes mountain region. Cuenca, our city of around 450,000 people is about 8,500 feet in elevation. It is hard to breath at first, and is allot cooler than one might consider seeing that the equator is only minutes away by plane.

Please enjoy as you step into our world and get a glimpse of what the Lord is doing in this incredibly beautiful country.

Chicha
PAstor Craig drinking CHicha. CHicha is made by the older generation of ladies. They chew vegetables (In this case a squash like vegetable) and spit them out into a vat (Which is presently in his hands) It is left for a period of time and then consumed. It is always offered to guests and is a test to see if true friendship is shared. If you donīt drink it , your an enemy. I had explained this to Craig and Beth beforehand. So when offered , Craig and Ty Stakes (He already knew about the tradition) "gladly" accepted the natural beverage. I politely explained how my Doctor repeatedly asked me not to consume anything out of the ordinary, and they graciously didnīt claim me as an enemy. Craig and Ty werenīt impressed though!!!!!
